Abhinayam announces the lineup for it's July 28 show date at Red Clay Theatre. We will feature two plays - Antu Baanche Ni (Antu did not live) and Mesh O Rakkhosh (Sheep and the Demon).

Antu Bacheni

Named after the play's protagonist, this original play is based on a short story by Suchitra Bhattacharya. The play explores the aftermath of a young man's death as family secrets are revealed and questions are asked. Played out against the backdrop of societal ills we grudgingly tolerate, most of the questions asked don't have answers. Or, the answers are too frightening and sad to confront.

Mesh O Rakkhosh

Manoj Mitra's classic gets a makeover as colors, music, dance and high drama turn fairy tales into modern social commentary. Demons, sycophant courtiers, princes, holy men, and of course sheep feature in this comedy centered around selfish and hegemonist aspirations. Come be entertained by music, irreverent comedy, and visual delights.

The plays will be sandwiched around a break - a break that promises to highlight some culinary delights.
